X99 and CPU-Z Loading Issue

runit3
Go to solution Solved by Vaub,

v1.70 has problem with memory query on X99 (same as the non-beta Aida64).

My guess is that it'll be resolved with the next version.

Anyone else getting this problem?

CPU-Z (ver 1.7.0.0.x64) will begin to load but as soon as it hits SPD it hangs for a few (many) seconds and I get a graphical error if I load up any window over it -just a blank white rectangle. Eventually it'll pull all the specs and function fine, but from start of application to information screen takes ~27 seconds which is about 10 times longer than on any of my other machines or builds.

Just wondering if there are multiple people experiencing the same thing, could be my RAM, figured I would post here before contacting CPUID. Build specs in my sig.

It takes a while to load (about 10 secs) but loads always up without any issues. I'm using a 5930K and Corsair Vengeance LPX 2800MHz. System is OCed pretty hard (all under custom water cooling).

That sounds weird. What windows are you running?

Win 7 Home Premium SP1

My OC is 4 hour RAM/CPU stable in XTU (validation in sig) Also custom loop. I think I've ironed out the graphical errors (finally found my SLI connector) but the damn thing still takes forever to load. Might just be my RAM kit if you're not getting any problems. The XMP settings/dipswitch on my X99 Deluxe were all kinds of jacked up. Finally got a fully functional OC last night/this morning but had to input nearly every value everywhere in manual and ditched the board's dipswitch features.

I think that CPU-Z came out shortly after Haswell refresh (I remember 1.69x64 reading my g3258/4690k as g3240s and 4690 respectively). So it could just be in need of an update to properly support the platform.

Or maybe something is actually wrong :(

Well when I initially loaded up the ASUS provided version of CPU-Z it was definitely my OC causing the problem (stupid XMP settings were inaccurate/not loading properly) I figured the graphical errors were down to my SLI setup, which was the case. But now with this rock solid OC, multiple cold boots, and the most up to date version direct from CPUID I can't figure out why the hell it still takes 20+ seconds to load @ 4.375 and 3000mhz on the RAM. Guess I'll throw CPUID an e-mail to see if they have any suggestions

Had very similar issues with monitoring and reporting software. Some works / Some doesn't. CPU-Z takes about 15secs or so for me but HWMonitor straight up crashes my system. Asus's AI suite works well though. Update the Asus BIOS as the newest one does give improved monitoring but still CPU-Z is buggy for me.

EDIT: 5930K, X99 Deluxe, and Crucial 2133 16GB here.

Yeah I can confirm this with Aida64. The program shows the correct temps and everything but the CPU overview doesn't work with Aida64 extreme correctly with Haswell E. I hope it gets fixed soon. Already wrote an email to them.

I tried both their current release and their most current beta version, only shows 5 of my 8 cores :(

I'm on the most recent BIOS (0801 I think). HWMonitor crashes out, CPU-Z just takes forever to get up and running.

Guess I'll just have to live with early adopter syndrome for a bit.

Yeah that's what I figured as well... oh well. I've been using AI Suite 3 for temp/fan monitoring... not my favorite but it works.

I like Aida64 extreme, the program is very versatile so I really hope this gets fixed asap.

I do not like personally the Al suite 3, so I try to stay away from that haha :) .

I like the fan controller software, I wish they just released a standalone version of it and left all the other crap out. GUI loads way too slowly, refresh rates are slow, and on the fly OC ability is wasted space as far as I'm concerned <_<

I am running all my fans off my Bitfenix fan controller.

The idea with that software is nice but since I run 2 custom watercooled loops and other fans in and outside the case I want to make sure to get it as silent as possible, and that scaling with the CPU or MB temp is nice in the UEFI but gets annoying and loud.
