So i need help deciding which monitor to pick of these 4: Lg 23mp65hq-p, Asus mx237h, Samsung S24c650pl and Samsung S24d590pl. At the moment im leaning towards the lg one just because its color calibrated, im not sure if ad-pls is equivalent to ah-ips so im not sure if i trust ad-pls, and my main problem with the asus mx237h is that alot of people have had problems with flickering, so should i risk buying the asus, or buy the samsung/lg one?

It sounds like you've already decided from reading your reasoning. May I suggest another LG one though. It too is colour calibrated but just looks better aesthetically. Its the LG 23MP75HM-P » http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005630CVF «.

Color calibration won't do anything for you then, the point of it is to make sure that the images on the screen have the exact same colors when printed out, it's just for graphics professionals. It doesn't have anything to do with making the colors look as nice as possible or anything like that.

So the color calibration is only for images then? It doesn't apply to color in games?

It applies to everything, but it won't look like anything special compared to an uncalibrated monitor, the colors won't look any more "correct" or better in some way.  The only purpose of monitor calibration is to ensure that colors match what they will look like when printed with a calibrated printer.
