Suggestions please!

Family member has a old HP PC with XP on it and it started freezing awhile ago and not loading all the time. I thought it sounded like a HDD issue. I ran HP diagnostic and it failed.

So i decided to hook it up externally to my own rig. I checked for bad sectors but none were found. I can see and open all data on the drive and it is running flawlessly but it will not boot into XP. It doesn't pass the loading screen and reboots into system repair. Repair can not fix the problem though.

Any ideas? Thanks.

You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?

Ya but they dont want to lose all of their programs and settings. He is very old and doesn't adapt to change. Im afraid a fresh OS would be to much for him lmao.
