Hello everyone, what a great community !!

I am building for the first time a PC and would like some of your comments on it, i'm so scared i've overlooked something or i've made terrible choices.

This PC is entended mainly for gaming and the budget should be around 1100 $.

Here is the link to PC part picker

If you think i've choosen wisely, tell me too; i did my best. If there is part you'd change, tell me about it but keep in mind that my local hardware supply shop might not have everything you can think of, and i may be quite limited in my options.

EDIT : Here are the links to the online shop i'm buying to, so you can tell what are my options :

GPU - RAM - CPU cooler - PSU

PS: I don't care at all about the look of the pc ^_^

This is a much stabler build for you.

  1. Dropped the processor back to an i5 for gaming.
  2. Got rid of the junk psu you had and replaced it with a tier one psu (best there is).
  3. Swapped out the CPU Cooler for something better.
  4. Swapped your SSD for a more reliable one.
  5. Got a better video card for this.
  6. Also switched to a better RAM.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

Switch to a i5-4690k because you are only gaming and not editing so you dont need that. Get a hyper evo 212 because you're aircooling and thats much better price for performance. And with the pocket change you get from those get a 280x/285 or a 290 if you can afford it.

I'm a student currently attending the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, if you attend or around there please don't hesitate to contact me!

Wow, thanks a lot for your quick responses, that's really nice.

Sadly as i told you, the shop i'm going to doesn't have much option, no CM hyper 212 EVO (my first choice prior to that) and no r9 280x.

As I see, i'll take the i5 4690k proc. And I also seem to need a better power supply.

Here is the online shop link to the hardware shop i'm going to; the page is in french but you can probably tell wich is what. (here is the CPU cooler page)

So after a lot of change, I came up with this build

But still a few questions, Is the power supply good enough now ? Should I switch the CPU cooler from TX3 to 412S ?
