which is faster between those two 1TB drives and it is worth it to pay 20$ more for one of these over a standard WD blue or seagate drive? any recommendations guys...drive will be used mostly for running games. thanks!

Oh and one is a ''hybrid'' drive...is that any better and/or as reliable?

There's not much info about them in your screenshot, but from my experience I can say, Segate is good. Got 2tb for games & it just works fine (don't remember if it's 7200 or 5200rpm, but can look up if you want).

Finaly decided to go with this one: http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=14120DR4117&vpn=ST1000DX001&manufacture=SEAGATE

From the reviews and benchmarks that i've been able to find it would be faster than most HDD while costing about the same as the WD black i don't know if it was worth the extra 20$ over a standard blue drive but i'll know soon enough...

Hey there,

When it comes to gaming, your HDD does not provide anything else (most of the times) but load times. There are cases, as @Si3Rra_7 pointed out, where some games require in-game loading of larger graphic files or an in-game loadscreen but as a general, the HDD or SSD would not affect your FPS or graphic performance.

I would say the WD Blue would be a great choice as it would provide what you need and still save you some money for future graphic upgrades (better GPU, RAM, CPU, etc.).

A hybrid drive is basically a normal HDD with a small built-in SSD (4-8GB usually) where some temporary or often-used files are stored for boosting the performance and load time of heavier programs and files. Again, this would not affect anything else but your game load times.

Hope this clarifies it a bit :)

Exactly , i only have CSGO , BF4 , and Payday 2 on my SSD , just to get into the server faster ( it makes a huge difference in csgo and payday , not so much in bf4 , but that might be because that game is a huge piece of crap )
