hi, im looking to build my first rig, hoping to get a GTX 770. Saw the Palit Jetstream 2GB one, it looks nice and is a good price here in the UK.

I was wondering has anyone had any horror stories with Palit cards in the past, or is there another reason i should avoid this card?

thanks :D

I somewhere heard that palit is the same as gainward and the gainward cards are pretty good! :)

hmmm conflicting answers, anyone got any personal experience?

Until the guy who posted gives an actually reason as to why you should avoid it, just ignore it. Although, if you can find an MSI, Asus, or EVGA card for the same price or a little more, I'd go with that

personally, i will probably go with the EVGA FTW ACX which will launch in a couple of weeks or so. Pretty good looking and awesome cooling aswell! :)

con: likely to be very expensive in contrast to other 770.

Palit is a good brand with competitive prices.

Also, Palit, Galaxy, and Gainward brands are under the Palit Microsystems company which is currently the biggest seller of graphics cards.

Yes they are very good, but...

I have a gainward phantom and i must say that card gets audible after 50% rpm, and as far as i know the tests i saw with the Jetstream are not that great, they can be even louder than gainward, and Phantom should be the quietest cooler of the three, and i saw Linus compare the Galaxy cooler can be loud as well at higher rpm.

The fact stays they are a great deal since they give you a card just a bit more expensive over a reference model, i was able to get +35 MHZ on the core ( 1006 MHZ 670, so it's already factory overclocked ) without any voltage change, and i got 500 mhz on the memory, i could have gone even higher with that memory, but i stopped because i needed to change my voltage up for the core, and i did not have the time to bother doing that. my card boosts to 1150 MHZ easy with the OC  and 6566 mhz on the memory, and i should have a bit more from that since i have not even increased the voltage.

So if you don't care about a bit more noise when you are gaming you will save some cash and still get a nice card!!
