Hi,

I have a 3570k oc to 4,6 Ghz on (only) 1,23V

A mate of mine has the same cpu oc to 4,6 Ghz on 1,30V

Does someone know what the "normal" voltages are for a oc to this frequentie?

yes i know of the silecon lottery, I just want to know is mine is extremely good and his is normal or if his is bad and mine is normal.

Q

I've heard that a student can say anything he/she wants

Yours is better because of lower voltage while still being stable. But both are good.

Well, The lower the stable voltage the better. You're going to keep your CPU alive that tiny bit longer than your friend because of it being lower. That is if it's on an offset and not always at those voltages.

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

Ok, i'm fairly new to oc on the 3570K we both came from the good old 775 days (we both had a q6600)

Well all I've got is a 4 year old Dell Inspiron 1370. 1.3 Ghz Dual Core Pentium Processor. Anything can beat this laptop :P

This sounds the same as on the q6600.

I just want to know what voltages others need to oc this chip

Both are good. I cant break 4.5ghz with any voltage. It just doesnt go higher.

So i leave it at 4.4ghz @ 1.35v

I can get up to 4.6GHz on my CPU, but the voltage is at like 1.5.

Those temps must be high. I really despise ivybridge in so many ways :(

They almost hit 90 degrees C running BOINC. If I ran p95, it'd be worse.

Hydro H50. The voltage is just too high. My temps are well within limits when at 4.4GHz.

Currently, it's at 4.2GHz. But 4.4GHz is stable at around 1.25ish volts.

There really wont be a "normal" voltage, when it comes to overclocking its all a privledge how good of a chip you get.

My 3570k is stable at 4.5GHz at v1.275, i can get it running at 4.6GHz but i need something like v1.320, but i just dont like that much voltage.

Run a Prime 95 stress test if you havnted just to make sure your overclock is actually stable, for atleast 24hrs.
