That's a bit challenging the peripherals will take up half the budget

I'm pretty sure its more than just challenging...Im pretty sure its impossible.

CPU: $60

Mobo: $40

RAM: $40

HDD: $30

PSU: $20

Case: $30

So, assuming he uses Linux, it's doable with like a 17-19" monitor.

Motherboard: Asus H81M-D PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($44.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Monitor: BenQ GW2255 60Hz 21.5" Monitor  ($109.99 @ NCIX US)
Keyboard: Rosewill RK-101 Wired Standard Keyboard  ($5.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $372.03

At that point i would do what i did and have him look for a prebuilt used one....sounds sketch but it will have everything he needs for that price...if he can find one he likes for that price.

Tell him to use Linux Mint/Ubuntu for the OS. And $370 after tax would be impossible...
