Will the i3 run bf4 smoothly? (i had problems with bf3 and a dual core cpu).

Because it has hyperthreading it'll run a lot better than a Pentium or the like, and Intel's single core performance will make it exceptional compared to a 750k.

*NOTE Higher resolution = worse performance than 1080p

So I have 2 builds here. The first one is amd based and the second one is intel based. I want to play games such as Battle field 4, Dota 2, Counter strike, and older fps such as modern warfare 2. I do intend on overclocking either of these builds i just want to know which will get me better performance in these games.

Quad core will help you at newer games (especially in Bf4) and R9 270X is more powerfull than the gtx 750ti.The Amd build looks better.

Definitely AMD. 750K and i3 are about on par in terms of gaming but the 750K is unlocked with a 212 EVO for possible overclocking, and 270X is noticeably better then 750 Ti.

Get a better motherboard though. One with VRM heatsinks
