Only go with the Lightning if you plan to overclock it to the moon.

Go with 290 it's cheaper and more powerful than 780 especially @ 1440P.

If you need Nvidia, prefer EVGA over MSI for their customer service. But if you can go to team red, your better off with the 290 for 1440p.

I have a Asus 780 its great and super silent (if you have decent airflow in case.

But go with 290 its faster and cheaper. Therefore i would also do ASUS
