eashosting.com cname help

So im setting up a website and trying to use a cname with easyhosting but there gui is like from the stone ages and there preferences are has one option which is language. So I went in to there DNS manger and went to zone file(btw im using square space and trying to use this domain name i already have.) and I go to add a record and I create a record with the name www.domainnamegoeshere.com then it a cname then I add a value of ext.squarespace.com and save it and it does not work. I have everything on square space set up right I just having trouble setting it up.
