What would you guys say is the best/most optimized recording setup? (Hardware & Software)

I currently use Camtasia Recorder with a Audio-Technica AT2020 on a table arm.

What could I use to make myself sound better? Maybe to cancel out any background noise?

P.S.Whats the best way to have instant feedback of yourself without using the default windows one which usually has quite the delay.

Perhaps get a shock mount and pop filter if you don't have one already?

What type of recording are you doing? Game play? Singing? Do you need to be able to have an unobstructed view of your screen? What's your budget?
