I'm planning to build a gaming/slight video editing pc. After much research this is what I came up with. Can you guys give my build some suggestions? By the way, my budget is USD $1100 +/_

looks good just grab a different 290x xfx are pretty poor and a ssd if you can

Look pretty good! Though if you have an SLI/CF ready motherboard, you might as well also have an SLI/CF ready PSU. Also you should definitely add an SSD.

In gaming, somewhat but not enough to notice unless you are counting framerates. This original build had a 780 in it instead, just swapped it out since you wanted to stay around 1200.

Okay, then I'll be better off buying the 290. But I won't be crossfiring in the future, so can I replace the PSU with the cx 600 instead?

Just go with the PSU I recommended. It's tier one material (the highest quality). Plus the fully modular makes a difference in the cleanliness of your case :) But its your call.

I would go with a lightning as i did with my pc.The power on this thing is amazing and the cooler is perfect.Yes is very expensive but you can oc the shit out of it with a bios update

Swapped a few things around. 

 

Added a 256GB SSD, and a fully modular XFX (Seasonic) psu which is plenty for a single R9 290.
