Hello, I'm considering to SLI 2 Asus GTS 760s together but pretty sure I don't have enough power. What PSU would you recommend for SLI 2x760s? Also is it worth it to just sell my current 760 and buy a 780Ti instead of SLI? (But about $300ish difference)

PC Specs: FX 6350 OC to 4.2Ghz Stable, 8GB DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz, Asus GTX 760 DirectCU II, Asrock 970 Extreme4 Mobo, 1TB 7200RPM, 120GB Samsung 840 SSD, Corsair 550M 80+ Gold PSU, NZXT 210 Elite White Case

Thanks!

-Dave

The Rosewill Capstone 650M/EVGA SuperNova 650G are as low end as I would suggest for PSUs, go 750W for more headroom.

Hm I would say you need more

Power, but as 2x 760s give 780ti performance and the 780 costs 300$ more you will still be better off getting a 750ww PSU and 760.

CPU: i7 3770k@ 4.6Ghz@ 1.23v - GPU: Palit GTX 660ti - MOBO: Asrock Extreme 4 - RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz - PSU: OCZ 650watt - STORAGE: 128Gb corsair force GT SSD/ 1TB seagate barracuda 7200rpm

                                                                                         COOLING: NH-U14s/ 3x Noiseblocker blacksilent pros/ Silverstone Air Penetrator/ 2 corsair AF120s

Well a 780ti is a big performance boost over SLI 760's. 760's perform very well in SLI however if you have another $300 to blow go ahead. You are probably going to be a little over a GTX 780 with SLI 760's, probably easing up on 780ti speed however your going to be drawing more juice with SLI 760's and some games don't support SLI so your going to be running some of your games on a single 760. Just keep that in mind

Note: Seasonic has a 1000w PLATINUM Modular PSU on Newegg right now on SALE for $139.99, thats how much I paid for my Seasonic 750w so if I were u I would be stretching my $$$ and going for that....

Go for the 780ti. It's just easier with one card. Many games (especially lazy ports) dont have sli support.

Also a 550W psu would be perfect for a single 780ti.

Wow! Blown away by the community support :) Would my current PSU work with a 780Ti or would i need to pick up a new one? My second 760 im getting for around 50 bucks from a friend :P

oh yeah DEFINITELY go for the 760. You would probably be better off with a 600W but a 550W will manage. A haswell 780ti rig only pulls about 415W while gaming. So I imagine two 760s would land somewhere in the 475W-495 range

Also, welcome to the forums! :D

It's a little iffy. I looked into the tdp to refresh my memory and nvidia lists it as 170 per card. Which means it might draw closer to 520 watts when fully just balls to the wall maxed out. Since you have a corsair psu you should be fine. They are made to draw 550W continuously. You should be fine. It definitely won't blow up but if ever you have extra money to throw around I would put it into a psu that can handle at least 750W The more overhead the better.

You mean the cpu? It's clocked high so I very much doubt it.

As an owner of a 760 SLI setup myself, I would recommend a 750w so that you have some headroom in case you either add more components or OC,

STOP using prime95 with Haswell CPUs!

Main Rig:

CPU:i5 4690k @ 4.6GHz, Motherboard:ASUS Z97-A, GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW, PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000 G1, CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240M w/ Noctua NF F12s, Case: NZXT S340, Memory: 16GB (4X4GB) G Skill Ripjaws X 2133MHz, Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 256GB boot drive & Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 2TB

Secondary/Folding Rig:

CPU:FX 8320 @ 4.6GHz @ 1.344 v., Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX, GPU: MSI R9 290 Gaming, PSU: Corsair HX 750, CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3, Case: NZXT Source 530, Memory: 8GB (2X4GB) G Skill Ares 1600MHz, Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 128GB
