Looking for computer speakers

In the market to buy some speakers that would sit on my desk either side of my monitors. Looking to spend around £100 on either a 2.0 or 2.1 set since I listen to a lot of drum and bass and need decent bass response. Problem is I don't really know any brands or what sort of speakers would be suitable for my use case. Any help?

Edit: I've been recommended these by a friend but one review suggests the bass response isn't that great but a subwoofer would fix that, although then I'm not sure what to look for there either.

no, not maudio studio monitors - big mistake. take a look at z623, it really fits your need perfectly.

edit: i dont mean to say maudio studio monitors are bad, they just dont fit your needs.

edit #2: @Aniallation named some good ones.

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.

I would recommend the behringer ms40, they sound pretty great for the price.

I you have a higher budget, I would suggest the audioengine A5+.

Bookmarked the ms40's although it looks like I may need a sub on top to get the bass response I want

Logitech Z623

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

Harman Kardon Soundsticks III

Corsair SP2500

Taking a more in depth look at the ProMedia and the Soundsticks, not sure on how the Soundsticks look but the reviews seem very positive.

Slightly out of my price range, on the other hand this product picture on the amazon page is hilarious

Thanks for the help so far guys :D

Judging by the reviews I've seen of 2.0 setups at this price range so far it looks like I might need a sub to get the bass response I want though.

Soundsticks aren't that good for bass. They're great for mids/highs and vocals though.

For bass, the ProMedias are really good and tight sounding, but the Z623's have a much higher SPL output, and are able to shake the room with ease.

I tried all four that I listed and stuck with the Z623. They're amazing speakers for the price, the cheapest out of the three as well.

The ProMedia one's are £125 on offer at the moment compared to £150 for the Z623s, I'll look into both :D

Yeah. There's just the one difference you notice the most between the two though, and that's the tightness of the bass

The ProMedia ones are more tight sounding. They're great for casual listening and general music. However the Z623 can produce a lot more air pressure with the bass, so you "feel" the bass much more, which is better for action movies/games and music with a lot of bass.

To some people (like me), the ProMedia sounds too tight, and they prefer to be able to shake the room with bass when they want to. To some people, the Z623 is too muddy, like those obnoxious subwoofers in cars that drive down your street at 2am

Yeah some of the reviews on head fi seemed to indicate it was hard to tune the bass too, looking at z623 reviews now

Reviews of the z623 don't seem as positive on head fi actually although that doesn't necessarily mean much. The ProMedia ones are looking more positive at the moment, but I'll give it a little wait and see how it turns over in my head. Thanks for all the help everyone :D

+1 for the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. Very good set for the price. Also the corsair vengeance speakers are good too.

Edit. The power connection on the klipsch has been an issue for some people. Just be careful and it will be fine.
