I have troubleshooted so many things in my PC. I figured out that is has to be the GPU because, I have, changed RAM, PSU, removed all unneeded cards (e.g. Ethernet card), then I changed the GPU to an old one I have laying around and it didn't turn off.
(The warranty is not expired, but I want to try get some help before I send it for maybe no reason.)

Whats your Power supply? you should probably replace it if it's isn't a quality brand or check the 6/8 pins. (or dual 8 pins whichever is uses)

It may be your R9 290 drawing to much power. How many Watts is your PSU/ it's rating.

Also do you have any Win Error logs or IDs?

^ If you don't get any errors it's probably something to do with the Power supply because it'll just shut down.

This.

PSU is most likely suspect. Some PSUs might say that they are, for example, 550W yet the amperage on the +12v rail will be considerably less.

I would say the psu is the problem in this system.

I got exactly the same problem in my build. Under load my 780 needed too much power and the system shut down after a few minutes without any errors.

I changed the psu and the problem was solved.

So go on, find another psu (don't have to buy one, just borrow) and test your system with the "new" one. If the problem still appears, I would freak out ;) or just check my gpu temps :P

Good luck with solving your problem :)

BTW: my old psu was also a 700W one

I currently am running a 700w Cougar semi modular PSU. But my cousin has the same GPU and he doesn't have this issue.

Exactly which Cougar PSU? Also, the PCI-E power cables you're using, are they connected to the same port or different ones?
