Arma 3

Go to solution Solved by Totally-A-Hero,

I paid full price, 10/10 worth it, if you dont have it and want it, just get it its not worth waiting for a sale. probably BEST true FPS (none of that cod shit lol) i've ever  played.

So do you guys think this game is worth the hefty price tag of $60? Its on g2a for $35 but its been out of stock for 5 days.... so im debating if i should just pay full price. So all input is appriceated :)

I paid $60 on launch day and it is by far the most advanced and expansive sim I have ever played. Well worth the money. That being said, if you have to wait a few days to get it for $35 then do that.

I love it! The amount of mods is CRAZY! Some of the mods are the best part about the game. personally, I have an AC130 mod that's just awesome.

Sounds fun, any mods you reccomend?

Oh gosh...

Too many!

I have over 11GB of mods, so I'm probably not the best person to ask about recommended mods :P

I would start looking at Weapon mods. Those are generally the easiest to get a hang of.

My favorite place to look is:

Armaholic is a great resource to get mods.

Arma 3 was on sale for 50% off just the other week directly through the bohemai interactive's store.

https://store.bistudio.com/

Sign up for the newsletter and wait until their next big sale, which happen fairly often. If you are too anxious to wait, I'd still recommend using their store for the steam key.

Not only does buying from them directly give you a steam copy, but your money actually goes to support game development and not to grey market key scammers.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

Don't forget all the maps ported from Arma 2. Takistan and Cherno look way better in Arma 3.

Altis is a default map, when you enter an Altis Life server it will automatically download the game files.

Kinda

It's a server side mod, not client side. If you want to play Altis life, you don't have to do anything on your end but to join a server :)

Ok thanks for the help!

I haven't actually used those yet.

Do you know if there are any missions that use those maps? If so, please do tell!

There is no missions that use those maps AFAIK, I usually load them up in the mission editor and make scenarios.

I was playing Chernarus Life a few weeks ago, unfortunately the server got whitelisted due to so many people RDMing and DDoS attacks.

Do they have there games in USD?

Yes, they used to have a drop down on their store to change currency, but with a (not so) recent update it was removed/forgotten. I believe it's a now a setting in your account. When logged into the store, my currency option is defaulted to USD.

As for mods, I'd suggest taking a look at All in Arma. It combines content from previous Arma titles into one 13gb mod. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?174016-All-in-Arma-Standalone-(AiA-SA)-A1-A2-OA-content-in-A3
