Could Linus do a "Fast as Possible" video explain GPU acceleration? Sony Vegas can do it, although their API for it is buggy, but I don't really understand what it is and would like to have Linus explain it.

It doesn't. CUDA and OpenGL/CL acceleration is the same process through different means of code.
