weak PSU power connector connection?

Go to solution Solved by FizzyFantom,

ok, so the problem seems to be that the power cable is too small, and there is a small gap of about 1 mm on both sides of the power cable and PSU, which makes the power cable been able to move freely

should i use some sort of tape, or something to fill up the gap, or do i have to buy a new cable

and yes, im using the power cable that came with the power supply

(ps does every power cable work with every PSU, or do i have to buy a specific power cable, just made for my PSU)

You should look around and see if you have another cable to use. They are standard cables that look like this:

They are used for lots of things so you will probably have another one somewhere :)

hello

about 1-2 mounths ago, i build my first computer, and i used this power supply.

it works great, but whenever i nudge the power cable just a little, the pc just power off, and then starts up again.

do anyone know what i did wrong when i installed the power supply?

or if you need more information, just ask

I assume you mean the power cable from the wall to the PSU. Do you plug in and unplug this PC often? I had an old monitor (really old mind you) and I really struggled with this issue, throwing it away becuase of it even though the picture was good. It may be that the PSU is a lower quality model and the power connector wore out faster than expected.

If this isn't the issue please correct me and tell us what the problem is.

Edit: it seems they use Seasonic as they OEM, maybe you just got unlucky.

Strange, have you tried it with different power cables?

I FOUND THE PROBLEM, by complete luck of course

The problem was that i didnt push the power cable in hard enough, so the power cable was just half plugged in, anyway thank you for helping me :P
