How come my motherboard 24 pin cord won't go into the socket? I keep trying by being careful the adding a little force but not like a gorilla but without luck and I don't want to break something.

Its keyed to only go in one way. 

 

Make sure the clip is facing away from the socket.

If it's that flexible it sounds like you're missing a standoff or two. You should check that out.

Nah, it happens sometimes.

The Asus z87 a board for example only has 6 standoffs instead of 9 like all the others atx boards. Maybe his board also only has 6.
