i was wondering somethings  about motherbroads  since im a first time system builder.

 the first  thing is that  i know that the socket  for the cpu i want to use, which is  an i5 4690k, needs to be the 1150 but does it need to be  just for 4th gen cpus . 

second thing is  that  what  motherbroads witha  budget  of  140 for the  broads  would you say would  be a good  idea to get  for an matx  build, or would  it be  worthwhile  to  go higher  like into the  200s.

Please do some more research about motherboards in general. Go to Wikipedia for "LGA socket", and you'll understand a lot more.

 

A budget motherboard would be some thing that is cheap but still has all of the functions, I recommend the Asus Z97-A.

OP will want a Z87/Z97 to get the most out of that unlocked chip
