Resolution Problems

So I've built myself a new rig and everything is running smoothly...but when i enter my desktop, either the monitor or the pc cuts off about an inch from either side of my monitor. Catch is that when i enter my BIOS, the display takes up the whole of my monitor which is a good thing and then i start up desktop and it still cuts an inch off my screen making it extremely uncomfortable. How do i fix this? By the way it's a benq rl2455hm monitor.

Right click on your desktop > Screen resolution and set it to the max (1080p in your case)

Right click, go to resolution, make sure he resolution is at the the max.

It's to do with overscan, for an amd card, it's in the monitor settings in catalyst control, then turn the slider to the right I believe, for nvidia I believe it's similar
