Now, i need a new HDD as my current 1TB is nearly full and i need to replace it due to drive also making strange clicking noises. I am thinking of getting one that is 3TB to give me a bit of headway in the future. I am also moving onto a Computing course which will almost certainly require a large amount of disk space. I am looking for a good performing HDD and a reliable one. I do however need it to be the best price possible. Any specific recommendation for any good value 3TB HDD's?

Cheers.

Do you already have an SSD for Os etc.?

WD Black 3TB or WD Green 3TB, depends on the fact if you care about power consumtion.

I use WD HDD's since forever ^^

Ye, i have an SSD as my boot drive. It's more of a storage drive for all my stuff. Music, videos and coursework etc. I don't care about power consumption.  :D

Yeah tagging or quoting would help.

They'll work but be wary with 3+TB drives as their failure rates are higher than drives with less platters.

Would a 2x 2TB Raid 0 be better? Am i right in that would create "one" 4TB drive?

Get a red drive for the reliability, they are interprise grade drives and will last a normal user a long time. (they are ususally used in server arrays that are on 24/7)

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.
