Hi, I'm new to this forum and I am also new to overclocking.

This is my 2nd rig that I have built and here are the specs:

Chasis: Thermaltake Chaser Mk-1

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1tb 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 (2x4GB) GB 1600 DDR3 Ram

Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon R7 260x 2GB GDDR5 OC

PSU: EVGA 600 B 80 Plus certified 600W Psu

Processor: AMD Fx-8320

Fan: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo

Motherboard: Asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0

I have browsed a couple forums and I've found that the Motherboard has some 4:1 power cycle or something that makes it not great for overclocking?

I would like to overclock as high as possible, preferably over 4.1 ghz

Again, I am a complete beginner to overclocking, I do know what the bios is, but step by step settings or a picture of settings would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

That sort of stuff generally doesn't matter as much as you might think. Is go to the OC panel, then the CPU one or whatever (I've never has an ASRock mobo). For 4.1 ghz, set the chipset voltage to 1.225, and the CPU voltage to 1.3. Set the Northbridge to 200mhz and the CPU multiplier to 20.5 I'll have pics or a video if you want, but it's on an ASUS board. I got to 4 ghz on my 6300 before I had to make my voltage too high in my opinion. Just be prepared to turn off cores for your OC.
