Case fan compatibality issues

Could there be any? I mean if my stock rear fan is 120mm so all the 120mm fans can fit correctly? And can you plug a 3 pin connector to a 4 pin plug?  Buying a 

Cooler Master JetFlo 120

Case - X Predator x1

No problems, Yes you can put 3 pin into 4 pin, All the 120mm fans are the same size :)

You gotta be careful. Some fans are 120mm but they are in a round shape that the fan itself is 120mm but the mounts might be 140mm.

 

I can't really remember the specific fan but I have seen this happen where a guy bought a 120mm round fan but the mounting was that of a 140mm fan...

If the fan has that "square shape", you only have to consider the width but that should not be a problem.

I think you have it the other way around.. There are definitely 140mm fans with holes where 120mm fans would have them but I've never seen it the other way around and anyone who would make such a fan is mad.

The fan you linked is just a normal 120mm fan with traditional 120mm fan mounting holes.

I just wanted to give an example... I have heard of fans that say it's size is X and, when you go mount it, it will only mount on a Y slot. I don't know if it's a 120mm that needs a 140mm place or the other way around, just wanted to alarm the guy about the possibility.
