CPU Upgrade to "match" GPU

Greetings everyone.

I was planing on geting a new pc this year, my current pc is 5 years old, so I expect this one to last for at least the same time. I use it for gaming, and with the next generation fo games coming this year I decided to get a gtx 680, which is coming later this month. I was also planing on geting the intel i5-3570k for my CPU, but now my brother wants to give me his pc which has an i5-2310, and no GPU so I can put my gtx 680 in it insted of buying a hole system. I am aware of the fact that a 680 is a high end GPU, so I wanted to get a high end CPU to "match" it. My question is, should I get the 3570 now, or wait a bit and keep the 2310 for now and maybe change buy another one down the line, like next year.

What are your thoughts ;)

I would say definitely wait for Haswell, and just see what your options are when it comes out.

If you still need to get a motherboard, then wait for Haswell, it's only a few days away. However if you already have a motherboard on 1155, then you can just get a 3570k.
