Using X360 and PS3 controllers on PC simultaneously

Hi, I'm having some trouble using different controllers on my PC. My X360 controller works fine, it's just the PS3 controllers that aren't working properly. I've installed the wrapper for PS3 controllers to try to get them to work without using horrid software like motionjoy. They are detected by the PC and come up in the device list as X360 controllers, but when I want to use them in a game, none of the inputs work. The player lights are illuminated according to player number on each of the two controllers I'm using.

 

If anyone could help me to get these working I'd appreciate it!

What exactly is horrid about motion in joy if its the fact you need to be online you can use Better DS3

Well, I guess I can try it. The fact it's online isn't good, but if it works I guess I have no choice...

Get the drivers from motioninjoy and then use betterDS3. That way you don't have to be connected to some shady chinese website that could send you malware every minute. I think there are also other Xinput wrappers for the DS3 controller, you might want to find those and stay away from motioninjoy altogether.

Well, I guess I can try it. The fact it's online isn't good, but if it works I guess I have no choice...

Better DS3 isnt online you just need to download drivers and then never have to open motion in joy again.

I've done that now and managed to get them recognised, but they still won't map controls to PCSX2, which is what I'm using them for. They show up in the devices list and it registers inputs, but I can't configure them to any of the bindings. Any advice?

I don't use PCSX2 however a quick Google search about controllers that don't work leads to something called lilypad that might be worth checking out

EDIT: also did you create a new profile for Xinput in better DS3

Yeah, lilypad is what I'm using. It registers inputs but won't configure controls for them, and they don't show up in game. I guess I'll have to search around.

you say it works with the xbox did you create a new profile for xinput and map it to an xbox controller

Yeah, the Xbox controller works fine. I did set the DS3 controllers to XInput with the wrapper and I was able to map the controls, but the game wasn't recognising them as controllers....

Never mind anymore, it was me being stupid. You had to press start on the controller to activate it but the game didn't say anything about that anywhere... Thank you for your help though!
