Jump to content

If the heatsink is not hot, it can mean that the heatsink is not properly mounted. Take it off, clean both the CPU and heatsink, then apply a peas sized dot of MX-4 and mount the heatsink. 

if that does not help, you either have a faulty CPU or the temperature sensor is inaccurate.

Honestly, he shouldn't have to buy another cooler just to keep this thing cool at stock settings. Stock coolers are designed to keep the CPU cool at stock settings and slightly above(turbo). If reseating doesn't work, just send it back and get a replacement.

should i underclock it

Never overclock with a stock cooler. Anything apart from a stock cooler will be fine to overclock with

I know but if its running at that temp without some sort of overclocking then there is something wrong, most of the time 100c isn't something you should be seeing without some sort of overclock,
