Hello,

Yesterday I ordered a Cooler Master HAF 922 XM from Umart - specifically without the glass window.

But when I received it they gave me the glass panel version! They said they have none left and that was the last one.

But I hated the glass panel version because they got rid of the Side Panel Fans which I like to use to cool the motherboard.

My old case was the Thermaltake MS-III and I filled that case up with 5 Jetflo 120mm fans - My motherboard temperature never goes above 22 Degrees Celsius! I always check the temps in the BIOS everytime I start my computers, it is always 21 degrees.

But with my HAF XM the temperature is always at 25-26 Degrees Celsius even with all the Jetflo fans from the MS-III. Aside from a larger (and better looking) case I pretty much got a downgrade.

Is there something I could do to cool this thing better? If I drill holes into the plastic glass panel would that work or it will just crack it?

Please take a look at my earlier thread which describes in detail the problem with the cooling and the 200mm fans it comes with:

Maybe I could just ask to swap/trade my side panel.

I was thinking just to make a trade with the retail store. I do not think that is possible though.

i think they have one of those pins where they but the window on, you can get some sheet metal and make some holes to fit those pins and drill holes for the fans

Hmm that would require specialised hardware (I do not have a driller), I would probably spent a lot more money than needed.

Maybe I'll just remove the window but how to you remove these kind of windows though? They have faceless screws (no indentation) so I cannot unscrew them.

Is there a thing where you can just buy custom side panels? I wonder...

i'll think they have some push pins to hold the window, i think the manufacture would sell some, for example corsair sells side panel doors with a windows for 300r

edit i found one

Cool, if not I might just follow this tutorial - http://www.overclock.net/t/1267244/cutting-a-fan-hole-in-side-panel-tutorial

Or if I contact Cooler Master maybe I can pay for that side panel.

well i can't find one, best bet is to return the case and buy the non window one from another store

I already mixed and lost some screws and accessory of the new case with my old case, I do not think that is eligible for a refund.

Oh well. I'll try something else.
