Best powerful tablet for school

V0LTAGEzZ

Our school has begun a policy of giving all students tablet PCs

I am not a fan of the budget models they're distributing and i plan to buy and bring my own

I need a tablet with enough power to run a little bit of Photoshop (and preferably a stylus with it but i don't NEED one)

But i plan to game stream off of my laptop which i also bring, thus it doesn't need to be a gaming tablet by any means.

In addition it needs to run a full OS as i need to install MS Office and other desktop programs

Because of these requirements i have been considering the Surface Pro 2 and the Surface Pro 3.

So what is the difference between the Surface Pro models, which has the best bang for the buck, and are there any other comparable tablet devices that are good for the average (if a little computer intensive) school day?

Thanks again, guys!

What is your budget?

right, sorry, it's below 1000USD preferably. it's hate to spend more than that on just a tablet.

also, would an i3 vs an i5 make any real difference on a tablet that already has an SSD? as i said, i'm not going to be gaming.

i would have considered the XPS 12, but i am already carrying around a laptop and i don't need another one. i don't want to go for a 2-in-1 as i am paying extra for less tablet and more laptop.

i like the machine but it's not what i'm looking for. as i want 100% of my cash to go toward a 100% tablet

the lenovo yoga is the same way.

in regards to the razer tablet, i do like the style, but i assume you're talking about the razer edge. i thought that was android.

just to give you an idea of where i'm coming from, i'm currently considering a refurbished surface 2 pro. it has the i5 config with 128gb and is just under 600USD.

i'm wondering if a surface 3 is worth the extra 300 ish and weather there is another comparable tablet.

You could get a Razer Edge/Pro

good recommendation

as i said i like the style however it is a bit bulkier than the surface.

in addition, i can't find a single one under one grand.

the hardware is really impressive but i am lugging around my laptop anyway so i don't specifically need to sacrifice that much battery life or cost when i'm not going to be gaming on it anyway

-(i plan to AD-HOC them and use gamestream from my laptop whenever i want).

on a second note, is a 140 dollar price tag fair for a storage upgrade from 128 to 265 on a tablet?

the edge was windows, i think its great, other than that there are not really high end tablets that aren't convertibles

Dell venue 8 pro or asus t100 with the kb dock with 500gb hdd
