So i am about to order a very low cost config for my mother which does not contain a power supply, because i already have a chieftech (pretty good one) out of use. The only problem is that it only has a 4 pin cpu supply cable (i don't know the correct name of it xD) and the motherboard i chose does have 8 pins. Now, i know from experience that it works with 4 pin but i don't know that does it require 8 pins? or will i encounter any problems if running with 4 pin?

Thanks for the answers :)

There shouldn't be any problems... Just don't try to overclock without getting a PSU with a 4+4 pin...

The 4 pin is fine for most overclocks. Using both for 4+4 is generally quite the excess.
