So I am doing my first PC build here in a few months and was hoping to do a build using the latest components. How long based on your previous experience do you think before these components prices drop down to something a little more affordable.

i.e. not this:

2.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132262

Now i'm not necessarily talking about these specific components dropping in price. More of more affordable ones coming out.

RAM should drop as soon as more manufacturers start producing more of it..

That seems like a normal price for an ROG board in that class..

What are you going to be using your PC for? X79/X99 is more of a pro-grade workstation platform rather than a gaming platform..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Memory prices are all about volume. Since DDR4 is only going to be available on X99 for the first while I expect that prices will remain relatively high. Once DDR4 appears on more mainstream motherboards (likely Skylake on LGA1151) prices will start to drop. But that eventuality appears to be at least a year away.

X99 motherboard prices will fall a bit as more of them appear and competition heats up. But I wouldn't expect any great price reductions unless the chipset becomes popular.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
