is the Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III good for desktops and is it effiecient??

Really? What about Crucial SSD's btw?

I have a 840 Samsung drive but it doesn't seem as fast as Crucial drives. And when I put controllers on anything other than IDE my pc crashes.

 The evo doesnt have the fastest speeds but the evo is the best all around ssd , crucial ssds are good too though
