1.Budget & Location

My budget is 1500 to 2000. I live in Australia.

2. Aim

This system is going to be used for playing game such as star citizen, leauge of legends, Photoshop, far cry ect.

3. Monitors

I only really want/need one monitor but it would be nice if it was 1440p+.

4. Peripherals

I do need a fue things a matching keyboard and mouse, OS (the best Windows 7) and I need a monitor.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I am upgrading because my old pc broke at the start of the year and I now have the money to buy a new one. So quality components would be nice so they last longer :P.

Thanks for the help (can you also explain why your build is the best)

Onto it, nice to see you are using the set structure already provided in the Sticky.

:'( Forgot to add the peripherals, Windows and monitor.
I'll be back, again.......

Yeh a 1440p monitor, Windows, peripherals and a build in $2,000 is pretty dam hard. There will be quite a few compromises.

Right, so imo you're not going to be able to get a really decent PC with a 1440p monitor. So I downed it down to a 1080p.

So I ended up with some decent peripherals and included Win7 with a 1080p IPS monitor. PC wise it's got a 4690K and a 212 EVO for some mild overclocking ability. Next to that is 8GB of Red Fury RAM from Kingston rated at 1866MHz, the heatspreader is shmexy as and the extra megahertz give the approximate performance as some 1600MHz CL9 equivalent. Put the 290 Tri-X as it has awesome cooling ability and is quiet in comparison to the other non-reference coolers. All that is powered by an RM850, I wanted to keep the PSU the same as it is a really solid PSU from Corsair with a high wattage rating with 80+ Gold, modularity and the outstanding reliability of the RM lineup. The the Pro is what keep all that together, it has some really good cable management, cooling capacity and overall feature-packedness. Oh also the Barracudas 1TB is for the HDD as it has a really decent price and is quite reliable.

Hopefully you weren't too set on 1440p, I just don't think that's such a great idea with peripherals along with a monitor and an OS.

Just to let you know, you won't be able to play 1440p+ on a $1500 budget ESPECIALLY when the monitor, mouse, keyboard AND OS is included.

I will do my best though.

Edit - @Khan Thompson do you want to overclock? if so that is going to make it even more difficult

Nice build, OP take a look at this, if you wanted to make it cheaper then you could get a cheaper ssd (840 evo) and cheaper PSU.

also look at g2a for windows 8.1 pro for ~$30, although it has been rumoured to be keys that run out after a while, 2 years I think?, anyway, I am using one right now and I was happy that I saved myself $70-90
