Not really, it'd work. Although the money spent on that FX-9590 would be better spent on an i5 4690k rig.

Its fine.

But don't buy a 9590 unless you have a custom watercooling loop or phase change cooling.

An i5 4690k will perform better.

Ftfy.

Yeah an i7 would be even better but thats more expensive than the 9590

An i5 4690k still performs better in games that use 4 cores or less (aka 99% of games)

So why is the 9590 stupid?

AMD's shared resources on their chips, and poor architecture Vs Intel.

The 9590 is near the limits of it's speed capabilities, and struggles to match a top end i7 in gaming, and they have better room to OC.

Plus, the 9590 requires a top end air cooler, or a mid-range liquid cooler to adequately cool it. It comes with a closed loop liquid cooler as "stock", lol.

If your just gaming get an I5 instead of an I7 ,  save the money for a better GPU or SSD,  The only real difference between and I5 and I7 is hyperthreading which for games isnt used anyways.   You will see no real performance gains from an I5 to an I7 in gaming.
