Hi guys

Was just wondering do all USB 2.0 micro cables have the same power rating? Like some can only output 1A or 2.1A or even 3A and do all have data transfer capabilities?

Thanks

only the power adapter provides the required amps

certain USB cables can charge only

others have data and power

usually the thicker cables will have data and power

the thin ones may only carry power

Amperage only has meaning in how much current you need to power whatever it is you're powering.

afaik Phones and tablets respond to charging at 500m-2A dependent on type, Keyboards (without backlights) can function at 100mA, (along with most other peripherals)

in phones and tablets generally the more amps you put through the cable the faster it'll charge.

Cables don't really have any limits on throughput unless you crank the voltage and amperage waaaaaaay high, then the cable will just disintegrate.
