i have decided that i want a new build. my budget is $2000 aud with periperals i would like to do mostly gaming but also some video recording and editing.

why not swittching to an amd fx 8350

gaming doesnt need that high cpu like i7.

Most games utilize single core performance.... I suggest you grabing an fx 8350 since you will be doing video recording and editing which utilize more cores

And get an H110i cpu cooler very nice cooler

the 290's still hold the best price to performance and are pretty much equal to the 780. if the op doesn't want to spend the extra $100 over other proposed builds he can go for it otherwise he can save money and get a 290

yea but he will probably use shadowplay and possibly cuda

Avexier is a good brand and aren't quite as well known as corsair/kingston but they have some sick looking leds
