EVGA supernova 1500 watt. Thoughts?

Powering 3 780s (eventually, 1 for now) and 32 Noctua NF-P12s (eventually) big ticket items(liquid cooling).

Other than that x79 Extreme 11, 3930k, Swiftech pumps, MCP  655s, storage( 2 SSDs and 4-8 HDDs).

Pros:

Love sleeving

10 year warranty

Aesthetics

Modular

Singular or multi rail (love choice, not like I would use multi but still)

Cons:

???

???

Anyone have one/have any experience with it?

Thanks in advance!

I've got no experience with EVGA at all, however I don't think you'll need 1500W. I have 1050W with 3 7970s and an X79 system. I don't have 32 fans, but I doubt they'll use 450W. Then again, they might! Haha.

All I was going to say is that you'll probably make do with a 1200W for that. If you're just after as much power as you can, then sure, get the 1500W. I believe Enermax are another high wattage PSU company that are good quality etc.

Hope i didn't miss it, what kind of case do you got? There are alot of bigger cases on the market that would support two power supplies. So you could get just one say Corsair AX 860i right now, and later another one. (or just any good 800 watt unit)

Damn 1,500w, what would need that kind of power, I've seen PC's with dual Xeon's and 3-way SLI and using 1,200w.

I believe that, its all the fans and pumps that I believe I need the extra watts.

fans maby use half a watt or so and pumps dont require a ton either but more then fans for sure.

To be on the safe side, I'd go 1500W.

I recommend this one: http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/product_a1_1_1&lv0=1&lv1=52&no=191

Newegg's result of just over 1300W usage was based on their bare-bones bench setup with nothing else needing to be powered.

Your fans won't use up that much wattage. Each NF-P12 uses a max of 1.08w and if you times that by 32 it's only 34.56W. Plus the MCP655 only uses about 24W so you're not really adding a lot of power hungry components like a GPU to the system. A 1200W like lets say an AX1200i will do you fine and still give you a little headroom

Overclocked, watercooled and under max load, that system wouldn't even be pulling 1000w. As said, a 1200w unit would easily suffice.

As for the NEX1500, it is a decent unit in terms of component quality and performance, but it tends to be overpriced for what it's worth. Since you don't need a 1500w unit with a setup like that anyways, you might as well go for something like a Seasonic X-1250 or a Silverstone SST-ST1200G and save yourself $100.

Had a heart attack when i saw the price. get a LEPA 1600w has a higher rating on jonnyguru as well and for the price you could almost get two of them or get the PSU and get them custom sleeved.

A 4-way Titan owner over at EVGA's forums has reported getting over 1600W usage. Seeing as the GTX 780 is only a tad lower in power consumption plus OP needs to add tons of fans plus pumps, I'd say 1500W is the safer bet for 3-way GTX 780's

I had to install a 240 volt dedicated breaker! i wasnt able to keep my 5.1ghz overclock with quad titans do to insufficient power! In over clock mode note that im pulling over 1600 watts!!!! how many people can run this with out either one crazy power supply .... guess they would have to get two! omg the super nova rocks!

Enermax is the PSU OEM for LEPA. Although, whether the Platinum certification warrants that much increase from Gold, depends on the person.
