First time I started up my newly built PC, the fan worked. I'm using the stock cooler for now, but I havea Corsair H80i ready to go.

Second time I start it up (after installed windows) ASUS pre-bios tell me there's a cpu fan error. sure enough the fan is still. heat steadily climbing. I have no idea what to do.

Windows is also pretty messed up, so I went onto a laptop and downloaded a bunch of drivers. (only two resolution options neither of which are 1080p, no sound, no internet)

Please help,thank you.

WELCOME TO LTT FORUMS!!!

So its the H80i thats the issue? Do you have a warranty for it? If so, then RMA it.

did you connect the CPU fan to the correct CPU fan header?

check if the cable is not snagged on the fan blades

did you download the LAN drivers?

audio driver is the Realtek drivers

What are your full system specs and is your fan for your H80i connected to the CPU_FAN header? As for the Windows, I would recommend to reinstall it: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc You would have to install the LAN Drivers on the CD in order to access the internet.

I'm not using the h80i right now. I'd like to update the drivers (got a USB with them on) but I can't get into windows. I'll check the cable right now.

Have you tried accessing Windows with integrated graphics by removing your graphics card and plugging in your monitor to the motherboard?

I will now but the CPU problem still there, I'm not sure how long it'll last without proper cooling. Maybe I should spend the rest of the night installing the h80i
