File Explorer Gone

Go to solution Solved by Clyne,

Use system restore to get back file explorer if it helps.

I was messing with different icons to use for the start button, skype, chrome, and stuff but when I tried to put the defaults back I think I may have gotten rid of my file explorer. I can’t find it even when searching in the search bar. I’m pretty sure it’s there because I did the same thing with steam and it’s still listed under installed programs. This is all I'm able to get when searching. http://puu.sh/b7WAH/f1f63809e8.jpg

You could just make another shortcut that takes you to the libraries area.

I don't know how to do that, and I never made a restore point. I do have the windows repair disk, would running that help?

search for system restore in the start menu and when you click on it, chose which previous point to go. Your system would make a restore point when it install a new program on your computer.

Ok that fixed it being missing, but now it and some of my other icons are gone. http://puu.sh/b7YaT/92e3fae66a.jpg

Just for the future, sometimes restarting to clearing the cache won't bring back the icon, but unpinning and repinning to the task bar will. iTunes is bad for this, at least on my system.
