I don't know if to build a desktop or to buy the laptop, because if i make a desktop i want it with not the best but parts that can run games at high or ultra 60fps, i don't want to upgrade and have the old parts for nothing

Lenovo Y50 is good, but if you're willing to spend $1500, you can do better. Something like the Sager NP8258-S, perhaps? It comes with a GTX 870M with 6 GB of VRAM, but I kinda doubt it can make use of all of it. Still, it's probably the best GPU you can get in a gaming laptop for under $1500.

Get a desktop and a cheaper laptop. I doubt that 4gb of VRAM will be used.

Are we just talking about 1080p gaming here? You could easily use $1500 to make a build with a R9-290 or GTX 780. If that isn't enough horsepower, you could simply buy a second one for xfire/SLI.

With a laptop you will never use that 4gb for gaming at 1080p and the laptop will be too weak to handle 4k. Get a desktop.

The problem is that i need windows and a monitor so, and i want it to look good and that costs a lot. I am not someone who has an income al months, i only get money as gifts and i hope i can build what i want for christmas, but my real goal is to build it within a year or so before i turn 18

If money is hard for you to come buy, I think that's all the more reason save the $1500 for your desktop build. And I say that as somebody who likes gaming laptops and has owned a couple.

I appreciate your opinion and will follow it, i've been strugling with this decision for a long time ;)
