I mean it's simple, you just disconnect what you need to disconnect, put everything back in the new case, put all back together the way it was and it good to go, You did that right ? you didn't happen to change any thing about the Ports used or such ?

i do but I tried it without the harddrive connected and nothing happened. The thing is I haven't had windows 7 for a year

Why dont you try downloading a windows 8 OEM iso?? and launching a system repair?

i see your downloading an iso but just in case you still need to enter a temp product key you can just use a already used one from the interwebs
