CPU air cooler

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

But will there be enough space? (im using a carbide spec 03) :o

so no dual fans? D:

It will be like horizontal Hyper 212.

Single fan it will fit for sure. If your GPU installs to the second slot on your motherboard then dual-fan will work too. I would still mount it vertically though.

Would it be possible to install the hyper x3 evo facing upwards? (I have a 120mm rad (h55) for the GPU with kraken g10 at the rear exhausting air out and very low profile memory sticks)

The BBQ: i7-4770 / 212x / Tri-X R9 290x 1075/1400 / MSI H87-G43 GAMING / EVGA G2 850W / Corsair Spec 03 / Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD / Toshiba 2TB HDD / 8gb Kingston DDR3 1600mhz

Peripherals: G710+ / G502 / Bose Companion 2 Series III / Audio Technica ATH-M40x / Sound Magic E50

Yes, you can install it horizontally since the mounting mechanism is shaped in a square layout and can be rotated 90 degrees, just like Hyper 212, Hyper T4, etc.

By upwards when you look at it the cooler is mounted horizontally? if you meant vertically yeah I could see you fitting your Kraken G10 in the rear end(next to the motherboard i/o) 120mm fan mount fine but the cooler would need to be quite thin (single tower only)

That would very much depend on how much space you have left, whether the cooler has enough mounting hardware for another 120mm fan (whether it uses screws or a metal-clip mount) most air coolers are designed to have 2 fans in which config but only come with one sadly. Try finding a 15mm deep fan I believe Gelid might have one.

This would be better rather than the CPU cooler blowing into the rad right? :D+

You will likely barely notice a difference in temperature, but vertical looks nicer. The air blown out the other side of a heatsink isn't that hot.

I have mine horizontally becuase I have an exhaust at the top and heat rises

I have mine horizontally, cause I have top intakes so fresh air comes in through the top, goes through the cooler, and goes out the back exhaust.

ah so you opted for positive pressure! For me personally i have my PC in positive pressure when not under load and negative when under load (the exhaust fans are tempt controlled while intakes runs 100% of the time) :D
