Portable WiFi Hotspot?

Not sure if this goes here or in networking. 
I'm looking for a portable WIFi hotspot so when I travel in the car or are at school I can get some WiFi. Any ideas on some preferably under $50.

Your going to need a data plan so whatever telco you go with there will be like 3 or 4 choices from that.

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory
