I have a Corsair H50 and I was wondering if it would work on an 1150 socket. I am looking at the back plate and it has '1156' outlined in the bracket itself and not 1150. Are 1156/1155/1150 aftermarket heatsinks compatible with each other?

I should mention that I am getting a 4790K, this cooler would be alright if I am overclocking slightly, rite?

Yes. 1155, 1156 and 1150 mounts are the same.

As far as overclocking, Intel fixed the thermal issues with haswell refresh, so you should be able to get a decent speed boost.

My Corsair H60 reaches 85C on stock speeds, undervolted on my 4770K. My 4770K is a bad chip, so I don't know who is the blame. Either the CPU has crap TIM or the cooler isn't strong enough.

Corsair doesn't recommend quad cores for the H50, not even OCed dual cores, just saying.

Got an 8350, and that is eight. See no problems here, idling at 17 celsius.
