I currently am on my family's overpriced cell phone plan. My phone went bad and they won't let me activate my working phone without a $30 data plan. So I figured I'd switch to Republic Wireless and get the $10 a month plan for texting/calling. What I'm wondering is though, is how easy it would be to switch my number over to them. I will probably have to just let me old plan's contract run out, so I'm not sure if I can switch numbers or not during that time. Also I believe I can just get a phone shipped to me and it will work, correct? As there is no Republic Wireless location near me.

Also, if anyone has a promo code or referral code I could use to save some money (and maybe save you some money as well) that would be great. :)

There awesome. I switched 2 months ago when I saw Clark Howard gave up his cherished i-phone for them. What sucks? 411 is atrocious. At ten bucks a month I can live without 411. My daughter wanted an i-phone. Her Mom and I got her a 25 dollar burner phone from walmart. I told her burner phones are cool cause Raymond Reddington, gun smugglers and assasins all prefer them to an i-phone. She still hated it and was embaressed to take it with her. She now is very happy with the 99 dollar Moto-whatever.
