I'm thinking of connecting an air duct to my case to take in air that is farther away from the hot case and to have it easier to clean.
I was thinking of using 6 fans facing down with air filters to suck in the air and then push that through a 6 feet duct into the case. First of all I'd like to know if anyone can spot anything bad about this idea. And then I'm not sure whether to use pressure optimized fans or airflow optimized fans (I know for radiators you need pressure optimized fans, what about fan filters?). Also does anybody have an idea whether I will need some fans to pull the air out of the case or whether I can build the whole thing as a push-only configuration?

People have done it. You only need push. Make sure opening is covered so rain doesn't go in and into you PC.
