Yes, i have seen the last video of linus building the 12core workstation...

Although i want to ask the community:

Which recommendations do you have for a workstation-build for rendering in Maya 2015 and Blender?

My budget is about 2500.- to 3000.- $ (for cpu, mainboard, ssd and gpu) and i want to wait until Haswell-E(P) is out.

I don´t know if i should spend more money on the CPU(s) or on GPU(s)...

What is about a render-farm? Is it hard to build and manage?

Sometimes i do also some gaming... but very rare... so the focus will be rendering.

Thanks in advance for all ideas.

@Kloaked: Thank you for your suggestions and for posting... but for me a 3970x seems to be outdated now... especially for that price. I have already the evga x79 dark (but with a 4820k)... i am not very enthusiastic about the board - especially the BIOS is crap. I am also thinking about buying a multi-core xeon... or two of them - as far as i know the more cores the better for rendering - clock speed is not as important as cores for rendering. But my main question would be if i should focus more on CPU or GPU? I am new to blender and maya so i can´t really evaluate if more CPU-power or GPU-power would be better or if building a render-farm would be "the" solution... if anybody in the forum has experiences with hardware in connection with these two programms i would really appreciate some more advices.
