Still a downgrade

oh definately but it'll still be better than the damn pentium >.<

Actually, it does beat the i3 in some things due to the OC abilities

Those are mostly single threaded/single core applications which are actually starting to vanish thankfully.

Been having my i7 920 cpu since it came out, 7 years and still very good. Check if your not overclocked and check your that your cpu cooler is mounted properly and apply new thermal paste without healing time.
