Massive overtime memory usage with Twitch + Chrome.

Pretty much this, after around an hour to 3 hours tonight as per usual with Twitch sitting on the other monitor the memory usage just continued to rise until it was at 3.7GB for the popout tab alone with Facebook using a cool 1GB on it's own just in the background. With both running my memory usage was sitting at 7GB / 8GB and as I was about to take a quick screenshot the popout decided to crash (as usual). Is there any way of sorting this or is it a common problem with chrome?

It seems to be a bug within Chrome that's been going around, no fix yet other than using Firefox.

I went into chrome settings and forced it to use more ram lol....runs so much more smooth.......unused ram is wasted ram...

Its been known that Chrome is a resource hog in every possible way, and on top of this is seems to have a memory leak of some kind.  It doesn't achieve its snapiness with magic.  Every tab is its own process, and I think even videos get their own process (could be wrong, not sure). I use chrome less and less any more (especially with the bug when using CCleaner, corrupts the pref file and resets everything to default even with sync enabled). It's just a pain to use at the moment and behaves more like an OS then a process..

Heh.... Why would I let chrome use more ram when it already takes up 11gb - 13gbs of ram lol. 

 

I won't have space for my other programs lol....

Thats sets defualt amount it uses from defualt of 128mb  to 512mb. it won't add to much.
